Flint, capital of Genesee county, Michigan, on the Flint River, 64 miles NNW. of Detroit by rail, with numerous sawmills, and manufactures of beer, flour, bricks, paper, machinery, &c. There is a large state institution for the deaf, dumb, and blind here. Pop. (1890) 9803.
