Frankenberg, a manufacturing town of Saxony, on an affluent of the Mulde, 32 miles SW. of Dresden, has manufactures of cottons, woollens, and silk-stuffs, also dye-works, a cigar-factory, and a foundry. It possesses some technical schools. Pop. (1875) 10,462; (1890) 11,369.
