Gordonia, a genus of Ternstroemiaceæ. G. Lasianthus, the Lobolly Bay, which covers considerable tracts of swampy coast in the Gulf of Mexico, is a handsome tree (50 to 60 feet), with evergreen leaves, and large white fragrant flowers. The bark is used in tanning.
