Grant, MRS., of Carron, author of the popular song, 'Roy's Wife of Aldivalloch,' was born near Aberlour, Banffshire, in 1745. She was twice married—first to her cousin, Captain James Grant of Carron, in Strathspey; and afterwards to Dr Murray, a physician in Bath. She died at Bath in 1814.
