Ivanovo, or IVANOFF VOZNESENSK, the 'Manchester' of Russia, in the government of Vladimir, 210 miles by rail NE. of Moscow. It has been the centre of the Russian cotton industry since the middle of the 18th century. Machinery is also made. Pop. (1897) 35,930.
