Karamnasa, a river of India, divides Bengal from the NW. Provinces, and, after a course of 146 miles, enters the Ganges from the right. The Hindus hold it in the greatest abhorrence, and will neither drink nor touch its waters, although they are of crystal clearness and abound in fish.
