Kilbowic

Kilbowic, in Dumbartonshire, 4 miles NW. of Glasgow, is the seat of the huge sewing-machine works of the Singer Company, which cover 46 acres, and employ about 8000 hands. The town is part of the police-burgh of Clydebank, whose population increased from 3830 in 1881 to 10,589 in 1891.
