Lake, GERARD, Viscount, born 27th July 1744, served in Germany (1760), America, and at Vinegar Hill (1798). He defeated the forces of Gwalior at Aligarh and Delhi (1803), Sindh at Leswarree (1803), and Holkar near Furruckabad (1804). Created a baron (1803) and viscount (1807), he died in London, 20th February 1808.
