Lauban

Lauban, an ancient town of Prussian Silesia, on the Qneiss, 15 miles by rail E. of Görlitz, carries on linen and cotton weaving, printing, bleaching, &c. Pop. (1895) 12,634. It was destroyed by the Hussites (1427 and 1431), and by the Swedes (1640).
