Leviathan

Chambers's Encyclopaedia, Volume 6: Humber to Malta, p. 598

Leviathan, a term that occurs five times in Scripture, in every case but one (Ps. civ. 26) denoting the crocodile. Some think that in Isa. xxvii. 1 it represents the great python which appears in Egyptian monuments.
