Lock Haven, capital of Clinton county, Pennsylvania, is situated in a beautiful mountain valley, on the south bank of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River (here crossed by a bridge), and on the West Branch Canal, 69 miles NE. of Altoona by rail. It contains a state normal school, large foundries and tanneries, machine-shops and mills, and has an active trade in lumber. Pop. 7345.
