Oribasius, a Greek medical author, and physician to Julian the Apostate (326-403 A.D.). He was born at Pergamus or Sardis, and his works are largely compilations from Galen (see MEDICINE, p. 117). There is an edition of his works in 6 vols. by Buffemaker and Daremborg (Paris, 1852-76).
