Pitcairn, ROBERT (1793-1855), editor of the invaluable collection of Criminal Trials in Scotland from 1484 to 1624 (4 vols. Edin. 1830-33), held a post in the Register House at Edinburgh. He was an active member of the Bannatyne Club, and secretary of the Calvin Translation Society (founded 1843).
