Ravaillac, FRANÇOIS (1578-1610), a bankrupt schoolmaster, who, after long imprisonment and a brief service in the Order of Feuillans, was moved by fanaticism to stab Henry IV. (q.v.) of France. He was torn asunder by horses. See Loiseleur, Ravaillac et ses Complices (1873).
