Schneeberg, a mining-town of west Saxony, 20 miles SW. of Chemnitz, producing silver (though not in its former great abundance), cobalt, tin, and iron. Dolls, lace, chemicals, &c. are manufactured, and embroidery is carried on. Pop. 7949.
