Sobraon, a village of the Punjab, on the west bank of the Sutlej, opposite which, on the east bank, was fought on 10th February 1846 a most obstinate battle between the British under Sir Hagh Gough and the Sikhs (q.v.), which put an end to the first Sikh war. Pop. 4000.
