Stanislawow, or STANISLAU, a town in the Austrian crown-land of Galicia, stands on the Bistritza, 87 miles by rail SE. of Lemberg, has important railway workshops, brick-works, &c., and is the seat of a Greek-Catholic archbishop. Pop. 18,626, of whom more than 10,000 are Jews.
