Stewarton, a town of Ayrshire, on Annick Water, 5½ miles N. by W. of Kilmarnock. Its specialty is the Scotch bonnet manufactures; but it also carries on carpet-weaving, spindle-making, &c. Pop. (1851) 3164; (1891) 2687.
