Superior, capital of Douglas county, Wisconsin, at the west end of Lake Superior, and at the mouth of the Nemadji River, 8 miles by rail S.E. of Duluth. It has a good harbour and steam saw-mills, and has grown up since 1880. Pop. (1890) 11,983.
