Abercorn, a Linlithgowshire hamlet, near the Firth of Forth, and miles W. of South Queensferry. Here stood the monastery of Aebbercornig, or Eoricorn, which, founded about 675, was from 681 to 685 the seat of a bishopric, the earliest in Scotland. For the ducal title of Abercorn, see HAMILTON.
