Batangas, a seaport town of the Philippines, the capital of a province in the south-west of the island of Luzon, 50 miles S. of Manila. It was founded in 1581, and is well built, lying on an extensive bay which opens into the Strait of Mindoro. Pop. of town and district, 27,000; of province, 275,075.
