Terebinth (Gr. tcrebinthos), another name for the Turpentine-tree, described at PISTACIA, the genus to which it belongs, and for the turpentine obtained from it. Terebinthaceæ is a term that has sometimes been used either for a part or for the whole of the Anacardiaceæ, to which belong the turpentine-tree, pistachio-nut, mango, sumach, Japan lacquer (Rhus), &c.
