Wattle-bird

Wattle-bird (Anchochaera carunculata), a wattled Honey-eater (q.v.) of Australia, with wattles half an inch long. The plumage is variegated gray, brown, and white, and the flesh is delicious eating. In a Tasmanian species (A. inauris) the wattles are over an inch long.
