Bella, STEFANO DELLA, designer and engraver, was born at Florence in 1610. He was intended for a goldsmith, but early devoted himself to engraving. He executed upwards of 1000 different works—battles, sea-pieces, landscapes, animals, and historical scenes. All are characterised by freedom and delicacy. He died in 1664.
