Belladonna Lily (Amaryllis belladonna), a very beautiful and nearly or quite hardy species of Amaryllis (q.v.), with rose-coloured drooping flowers pencilled with crimson. It is a native of South Africa, has become naturalised in Madeira, and has been cultivated in Europe since the 17th century.
