Blue-bell is the English popular name of the common wild hyacinth (Scilla nutans; see SQUILL, HYACINTH). The 'blue-bells' so familiar alike in the everyday rural associations and in the poetic literature of Scotland are the flowers of Campanula rotundifolia, commonly called Harebell in England (see CAMPANULA, HAREBELL).
