Brachyptera

Brachyptera (i.e. 'short-winged'), an ornithological term sometimes applied to such peculiarly aquatic birds as auks, puffins, penguins, grebes, guillemots, and divers proper (Colymbus). The term Divers (q.v.) is often used with the same meaning.
