Buck-eye, an American name for the species of horse-chestnuts (Æsculus, Pavia), more especially Æ. glabra and its varieties. Pavia rubra is known as red buck-eye, Æ. flava as sweet buck-eye, &c. See HORSE-CHESTNUT.
