Campos, SÃO SALVADOR DOS, a town in the Brazilian province of Rio de Janeiro, on the Parahyba, which is navigable for small craft to this point, 30 miles from its mouth. It has some imposing buildings, fine wharves, and a trade in coffee, sugar, brandy, and timber; and the enterprise of the people has introduced tramways and the electric light. Pop. 15,000.
