Carpi, a town of Northern Italy, 10 miles N. of Modena by rail, with a cathedral. Pop. 5987.—CARPI is also the name of a village 28 miles S.E. of Verona, celebrated for the victory obtained here by Prince Eugene over the French in 1701.
