Casablanca, a port of Morocco, 162 miles SW. of Fez. Wool, maize, and goats' skins are exported; sugar, cotton, calico, &c. imported. The trade, exceeding £300,000 per annum, is mostly in the hands of English and French merchants. Pop. 8500.
