Columbine

Columbine (Ital. colombina, 'little dove'), the female mask of the Italian improvised plays, variously figuring as the attendant of Pantaloon's daughter, or, occasionally, as the daughter herself. She is the betrothed of Harlequin, and is sometimes called Arlechinetta. See PANTOMIME.
