Corymb, a form of Inflorescence (q.v.) which may be regarded as a raceme in which the main axis has been more or less arrested in development, while the lower flower-stalks are lengthened so as to bring their flowers almost to the level of those of the upper. As familiar examples may be cited hawthorn, candytuft, &c. After flowering, the main axis of a corymb often elongates into an ordinary raceme, as in many crucifers.
