Ivry, a village of over 1000 inhabitants in the French department of Eure, 16 miles NNW. of Dreux. On the Plain of Ivry was fought, 14th March 1590, the famous battle between Henry of Navarre and the armies of the League.—IVRY-SUR-SEINE, a south-eastern suburb of Paris, on the Seine. Glass, earthenware, and chemical products are the chief manufactures. Pop. (1881) 18,442; (1891) 22,357.
