Lace-bark Tree

Lace-bark Tree (Lagetta lintearia), a tree of the natural order Thymelaeacee, a native of the West Indies. It is a lofty tree, the inner bark of which has all the appearance of coarse lace. A governor of Jamaica is said to have presented to Charles II. a cravat, frill, and ruffles made of it.
