Leven, a small seaport and police-burgh (1867) of Fife, on the Firth of Forth, at the mouth of the river Leven, 11 miles by rail NE. of Kirkcaldy. Pop. (1841) 1827; (1881) 3568; (1891) 4577. A good golf-links adjoins the town.
