Rampur, the capital of a native state of India, in the North-western Provinces, stands on the river Kosila, 110 miles E. by N. of Delhi. It manufactures damask, pottery, sword-blades, and jewellery. Pop. (1891) 73,530.—The state, entirely surrounded by British territory, has an area of 899 (another authority says 945) sq. m. and a pop. of 541,914.
